9 July 2010: Last night Maddocks was announced as the winner of the Professional Services Award at the prestigious 2010 ACOMM Awards held by Communications Day and the Communications Alliance at Sydney's Four Seasons Hotel.
It was standing room only at the award ceremony as industry leaders, the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, politicians and media gathered to recognise excellence and innovation in the communications industry. Other award winners on the night included iiNet, Nextgen Networks, Telstra Enterprise and Government and NEC.
Maddocks was the only law firm to win an award at the industry event beating stiff competition to take home the Professional Services gong. The award recognises Maddocks' efforts in assisting clients responding to the changing communications landscape, including advising clients in relation to the National Broadband Network.
Sydney Partner Brendan Coady accepted the award on behalf of the firm. "We are very honoured to be recognised by the industry in this way. As Senator Conroy said in his key note speech, it is an exciting time for the sector. This award recognises the significant contribution that Maddocks has made in enabling our clients to navigate the new telecommunications environment."

The ACOMM Awards are voted on by a panel of independent industry judges and are considered to be the most credible and prestigious communications awards in Australia.
