Stamp duty changes in New South Wales as from 1 July 2009: Update June 2009
The New South Wales Government has introduced into Parliament the State Revenue Legislation Further Amendment Bill 2009. Once it is enacted in the next week or so it will significantly impact:
- Secured lending.
- Dealings in shares and units in landowning private companies and unit trusts.
- Takeovers of landowning listed companies and listed and widely held unit trusts.
- Stamp duty minimisation and avoidance schemes.
