As part of the Gillard Government 2010 election commitment, the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency (DCCEE) has released a consultation paper titled "Tax Breaks for Green Buildings". The consultation paper details proposed tax incentives for improving the energy efficiency of certain existing buildings (the Tax Breaks program).
The Building Energy Efficiency Disclosure Act 2010 (Act) provides for the establishment of a national mandatory disclosure scheme (Scheme) for owners and tenants of certain commercial office buildings in relation to the energy efficiency of those buildings. A new Ministerial Determination was issued on 26 November 2010, which clarifies the application of the Scheme, particularly, in relation to mixed use buildings.

New land transfer registration fee in New South Wales
On 12 May 2010 the New South Wales Government announced the introduction of an ad valorem transfer fee in respect of the transfer of real property in New South Wales. This transfer fee is in addition to existing stamp duty payable on transfers of real property and is also payable by the purchaser.
Growth Area Infrastructure Contribution (GAIC) Update
