Maddocks Pride

At Maddocks we believe that people perform better when they can bring their whole self to work. That is why we launched Maddocks Pride.

Championing a Diverse Workforce

Maddocks Pride promotes acceptance and belonging for our LGBTIQ staff and allies.

The group’s objectives are to create and maintain an environment where all of our people can bring their whole selves to work, regardless of their gender or sexual identity.

Starting in 2016, Maddocks Pride has championed a raft of positive changes across the firm, such as introducing gender neutral policy language.

Maddocks Pride also fundraises for causes including Minus18 and the National LGBTIQ Health Alliance through various staff fundraising social events. It also holds events with LGBTIQ support groups belonging to our clients and other private and public sector organisations.

Maddocks Pride also organises Maddocks Pride Week each year in August. The week sees events organised across all of our offices to celebrate and educate on LGBTIQ issues. The week also coincides with the firm's marking each year of Wear It Purple Day.

In June 2021, Maddocks was named a Bronze Employer at the Australian Workplace Equality Index's 2021 LGBTQ Inclusion Awards - the second consecutive year we received this recognition.

Support for The Pinnacle Foundation

The Pinnacle Foundation and Maddocks partnership

On Wear It Purple Day 2021, Maddocks was proud to announce that the firm will be funding a Pinnacle Foundation Scholarship for the next three years.

The Pinnacle Foundation is a national charity that provides educational scholarships, mentoring and opportunities for young LGBTIQ+ Australians to realise their full potential and overcome challenges arising from their identity.

Pinnacle Foundation Scholarships are awarded annually to young LGBTIQ+ Australians to undertake full-time tertiary studies to realise their full potential and overcome challenges arising from their identity. Scholars are paired with a mentor who will typically share the same academic and professional interests, gender identity and sexual orientation. The mentor acts as a role model and provides encouragement, support and inspiration to ensure the scholarship recipient is able to successfully complete their studies.

Visit The Pinnacle Foundation website for more details.

Wear It Purple Day 2021

We are proud to mark Wear It Purple Day each year. This year, members of our Maddocks Pride Committee spoke about what they were grateful for this Wear It Purple Day.
