The strong growth of Maddocks in Canberra has been given a further boost by the firm’s appointment to the new Commonwealth Legal Services Panel.
The Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department announced the successful firms on 15 August 2019. Maddocks was appointed to all five of the Law and Legal Support Service categories and all but two of the 27 divisions within those categories.
Maddocks CEO Michelle Dixon said that the firm was delighted to have been appointed to the panel.
“Commonwealth Government has been a fast growing area of work for us over the past seven years,” Michelle said.
“This has included the opportunity to work with the Commonwealth on important matters such as the whole-of-government IT procurement agreements with IBM and Salsa Digital, the Banking Royal Commission and the Defence Major Service Provider arrangement.”
Maddocks partner and Commonwealth Government sector head Simonetta Astolfi said the appointment was an important one for the firm’s Canberra office.
“Since opening our Canberra office in 2012, we have advised a range of Commonwealth Government departments and agencies and established a reputation for technical excellence and commercial nous,” Simonetta said.
“We have invested significantly in our Canberra team and we are proud to have the opportunity to continue to work closely with our Commonwealth Government clients to assist them in achieving the outcomes they need to deliver services to the Government and the nation.”
