Gender Pronouns

Maddocks has been recognised for its success in supporting diversity and inclusion through an emphasis on accountability and evidence of success. The firm has been the recipient of various awards including being recognised as a Bronze Employer from AWEI, and Employer of Choice for Gender Equality from the Commonwealth Government’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA).

Our Diversity and Inclusion Strategy promotes acceptance and belonging for our LGBTIQ+ staff and allies. Our strategy is to create and maintain an environment where all of our people can bring their whole selves to work, regardless of their gender or sexual identity.

As part of this strategy, everyone at Maddocks has the option to display their pronouns in their email signature. We believe this is important to normalise discussions in the workplace about gender, and create an inclusive work environment for all staff, including those who are transgender or non-binary.

If you would like to learn more about inclusive language and pronouns, there are many great resources and organisations available. The Australian Government has published an Inclusive Language Guide, and Pride in Diversity has published useful resources available on their website.
