We advised Development Victoria on the procurement of the State Library Redevelopment Project
We have advised Development Victoria (formerly Major Projects Victoria) on the procurement of the State Library Redevelopment Project.
The State Library Redevelopment Project (also called ‘Vision 2020’ for the Library) includes the refurbishment of the Library’s incomparable heritage spaces, the creation of innovative new spaces for children and teenagers, and the reinvention of the Library’s existing services. The project’s capital value is $88.1 million - funded by $60.4 million from the Victorian Government, with the remainder to be raised through philanthropic support.
Maddocks has advised Development Victoria, as the procuring body for the Victorian State Government, on the key contracts for the project, including the design consultancy agreement, the early works contract and the managing contractor contract.
The firm has a longstanding working relationship with Development Victoria and this role showcased the firm’s expertise in advising Government on key state building projects.
The Maddocks team on the project was led by partner Alicia Sheridan.
