Maddocks advises Bucher Municipal on Australian acquisition
Maddocks has advised Bucher Municipal, the Australian arm of the global company Bucher AG, on its acquisition of the Australian business of Spoutvac.
Under the deal, Bucher Municipal, a leading manufacturer and supplier of municipal vehicles, acquired Spoutvac – Australia’s first major manufacturer of industrial vacuum and water jetting systems. The acquisition will integrate the Spoutvac products into the Bucher Municipal global supply and distribution chain, making them a leader in all categories.
The Maddocks team worked alongside the Bucher AG legal team, headquartered in Switzerland, to facilitate the Spoutvac acquisition by its Australian subsidiary. The transaction involved cross-jurisdictional collaboration to ensure that the asset sale met Australian norms and standards while satisfying the requirements of Australian management and international legal teams, and builds on the long-term relationship between Bucher Municipal and Maddocks. Maddocks previously advised Bucher in its 2016 acquisition of PakMor, a bulk waste equipment business and its 2020 acquisition of Richard Coach Works, a service and repair centre.
The Maddocks Corporate team advising on the acquisition was led by partner Catherine Debreceny, with assistance from special counsel Mike Steell, senior associate Jacqueline Picone and lawyer Alexandra Hodsman.
Maddocks has acted for Bucher Municipal since 2002 and are thrilled to have assisted with this next step in its success.
