Maddocks has appointed Maree Skinner to its Employment team in Sydney

Monday 9 April 2018

Maddocks has appointed Maree Skinner as a partner in the firm’s Employment, Safety and People team in Sydney.

Maree will join Maddocks in early May from DibbsBarker where she is a partner.

Maree has practised in workplace law for more than 20 years, with expertise in advising clients on the full range of employment issues, including those which arise in commercial transactions, restructurings and receiverships. She also advises on a wide range of industrial relations issues, such as enterprise agreements and industrial disputes, as well as Fair Work Ombudsman audits, investigations and prosecutions.

Chambers Asia-Pacific 2018 acknowledges Maree as a leading Employment practitioner, with one client saying that she is "a brilliant negotiator".

Maddocks partner and Sydney head of the firm’s Employment, Safety and People team, Bruce Heddle, said Maree will be an outstanding addition to the firm’s market-leading employment law practice.

"Maree has an outstanding reputation as a leading employment law practitioner and will be a great addition to what is already a well-respected team," Bruce said.

"I have worked alongside Maree at previous firms and I have seen first-hand the level of skill, service and care she brings to her client relationships."

Maddocks CEO Michelle Dixon said Maree’s appointment was another sign of the growth of the firm over the past few years.

"One of the reasons for this growth has been the targeted recruitment of partners who bring with them technical excellence and a passion for delivering outstanding client service," Michelle said.

"Maree is a great fit for us on both accounts."
