The Canberra office of law firm Maddocks continues to grow with the appointment of partner Pria O’Sullivan.
Pria brings 17 years’ experience advising on commercial and government leasing/acquisitions and disposals/development work.
She also has expertise in planning advisory work, Commonwealth Government construction and medium works projects, property and property-related procurement services, government advisory including aged care regulatory work, and property and planning due diligence for M&A and real estate transactions.
Pria, who is currently a special counsel at King & Wood Mallesons, will be joining Maddocks on 2 July.
Maddocks Commonwealth Government sector leader Simonetta Astolfi said Pria would be an excellent addition to the Canberra team.
‘Pria has built a reputation as an outstanding property lawyer working on key projects for government and the private sector and will further enhance our national property offering to clients,’ Simonetta said.
Pria’s appointment is the latest addition to our Canberra team, which has experienced significant growth in staff numbers over the past 12 months.
Maddocks Canberra practice leader Caroline Atkins, who joined the firm just over a year ago from DLA Piper along with partners Anthony Willis and Gavan Mackenzie, said the main driver for this growth has been the firm’s clients.
‘Maddocks is deeply committed to Canberra and our Commonwealth Government and private sector clients,’ Caroline said.
‘It is vital that we continue to anticipate and understand the issues our clients are contending with, and ensure that we invest in our people and the necessary resources required to support the outcomes they are looking for.’
Maddocks CEO Michelle Dixon welcomed Pria to Maddocks, the third partner to have joined, or been appointed by, the firm since 1 May.
‘We work hard at Maddocks to attract outstanding talent with a track record of success when it comes to client service, and Pria certainly fits that,’ Michelle said.
‘We are looking forward to Pria joining our vibrant Canberra team and helping to continue the fantastic momentum we have in that office and the wider firm.’
