Maddocks has bolstered its Restructuring & Insolvency team

Monday 14 January

Maddocks has appointed its second new partner in a month with the appointment of Danielle Funston.

Danielle is a restructuring and insolvency lawyer who advises clients on recoveries, liquidations, corporate restructuring and general corporate transactions. She also advises on financial services litigation matters.

Danielle advises clients across a wide range of industries, including the agricultural, automotive, aviation, construction and real estate industries.

She joins the Maddocks Restructuring and Insolvency team in Sydney from K&L Gates, where she is a partner.

Maddocks partner and head of the firm’s Restructuring and Insolvency team, David Newman, said Danielle was an important addition to the firm.

‘We are excited to have Danielle joining us and adding her expertise to our market-leading restructuring and insolvency team, which we intend to grow in Sydney.’ David said.

‘Danielle's appointment gives us a strong presence in Sydney as part of our national practice and is consistent with the firm’s strategy of being an independent Australian law firm serving our clients across the nation.’

The announcement of Danielle’s appointment comes after Maddocks recently announced the appointment of leading intellectual property partner Ben Miller.

Their appointments continue a run of partner appointments in the Maddocks Sydney office over the past 12 months.

Arlene Colquhoun (Banking & Finance) and Brendan Tomlinson (Technology, Media & Telecommunications) were promoted as partners in July 2018, while Maree Skinner (Employment, Safety & People) and Catherine Merity (Equity Capital Markets) joined the firm last May.
