Maddocks has moved its Melbourne home to Collins Square

Monday 5 September 2016

Maddocks has today moved in to its new Melbourne office at Collins Square.

More than 350 Maddocks partners and staff are occupying three levels of Collins Square’s newly completed Tower 2, the tallest commercial tower constructed in Melbourne’s CBD in more than 10 years.

The move comes after 20 years at 140 William Street in Melbourne’s CBD.

Partner and CEO Michelle Dixon said the new premises were a significant development for the firm.

‘Maddocks has being going through a sustained period of growth and expansion over the past 15 years and the move to Collins Square is an important investment in that growth continuing,’ Michelle said.

‘Our offices at Collins Square have been designed with the demands of the modern legal profession very much front of mind.

‘With the majority of our staff now mobile, the design of our floorplan includes plenty of shared workspaces and breakout areas, making it easier for our people to work collaboratively. There are also areas for our clients to come in and either work jointly with us or, if needs be, they can set up in a quiet space to do their work.’

Partner and Chairman Mark Henry said the Maddocks office contains unique elements that will enhance the experience of working at Maddocks.

‘We have a large outdoor deck on Level 24 that will act as both a lunch and meeting area for our people and clients, as well as a spectacular function space,’ Mark said.

‘Our people will also be managing a café on Level 24, which will be available to our staff and clients. The idea is to not only provide a place to get great coffee and food, but to also give our people experience in managing a business. Any profit the café makes will be donated.’

Mark thanked project managers Montlaur, architects BatesSmart, builder Buildcorp and building manager Walkers for their work on the new offices.

‘They have all done a fantastic job putting together this wonderful space,’ he said.
