Background

Chris is a senior partner in our Commercial team. His principal areas of practice are superannuation, financial services, corporate governance, general corporate advice, company law, trust law and the law of charities and non-profit organisations.

Superannuation has been a special focus for Chris. He has been involved in related tax, trust, Corporations Act and regulatory advice for over 20 years and is recognised as one of Australia’s leading legal practitioners. His superannuation clients include major corporations and the trustees of superannuation funds ranging from public offer, public sector and large corporate funds to single person funds.

Chris has been recognised as a leading lawyer in Superannuation by Best Lawyers Australia 2012-2016. He is ranked in the Australian Financial Review’s Best Lawyers in the categories of Superannuation Law and Commercial Law in 2018.

Before joining Maddocks, Chris was a partner in the Melbourne office of Mallesons Stephen Jaques for 23 years.
