Clare acts for government and corporate clients in all areas of commercial property transactions. She specialises in acquisitions and dispositions of property, property redevelopment projects and leasing of land. Clare advises statutory bodies, local government, water authorities, religious organisations and private investors.


Experience

  • Local government clients

    Preparing and negotiating leases pursuant to section 17D of the Crown Land (Reserves) Act 1978 for local government clients acting as committees of management.

  • Local government bodies

    Acting on the acquisition and disposal of properties (many of which include dealing with the creation or disposal of Crown grants). This involved preparing contract documentation regarding the disposal of properties, and reviewing and advising on contract documentation regarding the acquisition of properties.

  • Local councils

    Advising on the rights of various utility companies such as gas, electricity or water authorities over council owned freehold land.

  • Acquiring Authorities

    Acting for and against on the compulsory acquisition of whole parcels or parts of freehold land.

  • Goulburn-Murray Water

    Acting on the development of a tourist facility at Lake Eildon, including the negotiation and preparation of heads of agreement, long term lease and licences for the development of a facility to improve public recreational infrastructure around the Lake Eildon water storage. This involved the provision of sustainable recreational services reflecting the unique environmental requirements of water storage areas.
