About Jeremy

Jeremy is a specialist in planning, environment and local government law. His practice has spanned all corners of the field. He has acted for both private and public sector clients in statutory planning matters, all aspects of strategic planning, enforcement proceedings, appeals against regulatory decisions and in applications for judicial review. Jeremy has extensive experience acting large infrastructure projects, including significant road and rail projects, schools, coastal defence works and geothermal power stations. He is an experienced litigator and has appeared before numerous courts and tribunals on a wide range of matters in both Australia and New Zealand.

Experience

  • Strategic Planning

    Advising on various planning scheme amendments at all stages of the process, from strategic advice on draft provisions through to resolution of appeals.

  • Statutory Planning

    Obtaining authorisations for a wide range of projects including large infrastructure projects and acting for planning authorities on applications for review and appeals. Preparing and advising on planning permit conditions and agreements under s 173 of the Planning and Environment Act 1987.

  • Environment

    Advising on a range of environmental legislation including in relation to hazardous substances, and enforcement issues.
