About Joanne

Joanne advises borrowers, banks and private credit funds across a range of property finance and complex corporate financing transactions. These span large-scale commercial and residential developments, land acquisition projects and preferred equity loans.

Before joining Maddocks, Joanne trained and qualified into the London and Singapore offices of a Magic Circle law firm before working in-house at a US bank. She was also on secondment to the Corporate & Institutional Bank legal team at a Big 4 Australian bank.  

Experience

• Construction Financing

  Advising MA Financial in connection with a $380 million syndicated construction financing for the $540m Burly Residences development in North Burleigh, Queensland.

• Land Acquisition Financings

  Advising Qualitas on a land acquisition facility for rural land in the Australian Capital Territory. The land comprised of pastoral leases on crown land in the ACT and was subject to complex sale and land titles arrangements, including the requirement for ministerial consent and land management agreements.

• Complex Corporate Financings

  Advising Arrowpoint Capital on providing venture financing to an early stage fund.
