About Katie
Katie is a construction and projects lawyer who advises on and negotiates construction contracts, services contracts, consultancy agreements and ancillary documents for projects of varying size and complexity. Katie’s construction experience extends to advising private developers, contractors, local government and state entities.
Prior to joining Maddocks in 2018, Katie worked at a Tier 1 construction law firm in London advising private developers, pension funds and financiers on residential and commercial developments in London and the wider United Kingdom.

Acting for AVJennings on its public housing project in Melbourne. Work undertaken included passing through state and project specific obligations into the D&C Contract, negotiating with the D&C Contractor and reviewing and commenting on the agreement for lease.

St Vincent’s Healthcare
Acting for St Vincent’s Healthcare on the development of a large site in Melbourne into an aged care and palliative care centre. Work undertaken included drafting and negotiating the early works contract, the D&C Contract, short form and long form consultancy agreements, inputting into insurance and security arrangements.

Lendlease
Acting for Lendlease as D&C Contractor on the pass through obligations for a fit-out of a large commercial office block. Work undertaken included drafting pass through obligations from the head contract and agreement for lease into the major, medium and minor subcontract forms.

Local government
Acting for a large local government on the procurement of an amalgamated 10 years services contract. Work undertaken included drafting a bespoke services agreement, reviewing the commercial specification, supporting stakeholders, negotiating with the preferred provider and providing strategic project management support to facility completion of the project.

State government
Acting for a state department in the development of a state-wide facilities maintenance contract. Work undertaken including leading workshop with stakeholders, reviewing the services specification and drafting a bespoke facilities maintenance contract which provided for routine and reactive services.
