Matthew advises clients on a wide range of employment and industrial relations matters, including complex litigation, investigations, advisory, and the employment aspects of corporate transactions. Matthew has worked closely with in-house counsel and human resources teams across a variety of industries in both the private and public sectors. Before joining Maddocks, Matthew trained, qualified and practised at CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang in London before relocating to Australia. He is qualified in England & Wales, not in Australia.
Acting in proceedings for various clients including in the Fair Work Commission, NSW Industrial Relations Commission, County Court of Victoria, Federal Circuit Court, and Federal Court.
Conducting a range of complex investigations, including involving allegations of inappropriate workplace conduct and corruption.
Advising clients on complex issues including employment status, the enforceability of post-employment restraints, entitlements under industrial instruments, and termination benefits and restrictions.
Advising clients on the employment aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence, transfer of employment issues, and the drafting of transaction documents.
