Richard is an experienced competition and economic regulation lawyer. He has significant experience in merger clearances and authorisations, access and infrastructure regulation, and ACCC investigations and enforcement. Richard has extensive conceptual and technical understanding which he uses to strategically advise clients on competition and regulatory matters across a number of sectors including energy, transport, infrastructure, and technology, media and telecommunications.

Applying to the Australian Competition Tribunal for authorisation to acquire Tatts Group Limited.
Advising on the transmission determinations made by the AER in 2014 and 2018, the development of Project EnergyConnect and other ISP projects and related NEL/NER and competition law advice.
Various regulatory and competition law advice including in relation to the authorisation of its acquisition of Macquarie Generation, Part XICA of the CCA, and regulatory issues relating to the DMO and VDO.
Advice in relation to the access regimes applying to the NSW rail network, including the drafting of various access agreements.
