About Sarah
Sarah is a Special Counsel in the Canberra Public Law team specialising in probity and commercial legal advisory services to public sector clients. Prior to joining Maddocks, Sarah was a Principal Advisor at a legal and commercial consulting firm where she built and established a probity practice servicing Commonwealth Government and local government clients on complex procurements, grants and policy implementation.
Sarah has a strong background in government contracting and procurement having lead a commercial advisory team at CASG at Defence for the past 2 years. Sarah has deep experience advising clients on probity frameworks relevant to Commonwealth procurement, grants processes, and related commercial and contractual issues. Sarah regularly advises on commercial contracts and approach to market documentation to ensure probity and commercial risks are managed appropriately, with the aim to helping clients achieve value for money.

As the commercial team lead for the Defence Electromagnetic Warfare Intelligence Systems Maritime - Systems Program Office (EWIS-M SPO), Sarah provided commercial and probity advice to the SPO on multiple complex procurements including strategic procurement and probity advice large $100mil+ procurements and managed a team of eight lawyers and commercial advisors.

Sarah led the team providing probity advice to CDPP in relation to its Request for Tender for the procurement of a new evidence management system.

Sarah led the team supporting the ANU in the establishment of a Facilities Management Panel, a large RFT undertaken by ANU with multiple categories and a significant number of tenderers.

Sarah provided probity support to various infrastructure procurement activities being undertaken by Parks Australia to deploy capital funding works in National Parks and remote communities in Australia.
