Vicki is a Senior Associate (Qualified in England & Wales, not qualified in Australia) at Maddocks. She has expertise advising on a broad range of technology, intellectual property and privacy matters. In the technology space, Vicki acts for clients on the customer side and supplier-side on a range of technology transactions, including outsourcing and procurement, cloud-based offerings and software licensing. Vicki provides specialist privacy advice to clients (including in the GDPR space), which includes conducting comprehensive privacy impact assessments on new and complex technologies, drafting privacy documentation and advising on privacy-related issues in commercial agreements.
Vicki also advises local and overseas clients on a broad range of intellectual property matters, including trade mark applications, prosecutions and oppositions, commercialisation, licensing, assignments and disputes. Vicki also has general commercial law experience and regularly assists clients with business-as-usual work. Vicki is admitted to practise in England and Wales, having previously worked at a large law firm in England and adopts a client-focused approach with a particular focus on providing commercial outcomes to suit the business’ needs.
Assisting Energy Exemplar to prepare a new suite of contractual templates to cover its various product and services such as cloud compute, SaaS and professional services and advising on a number of software licensing transactions for local and international customers.
Assisting the global software company on negotiations with their domestic customers for the provision of business critical software products and professional services. Vicki was also seconded to Adobe ANZ’s legal team to assist with their BAU operations, and worked closely with the Adobe legal team and internal stakeholders.
Advising Dentsu on a complex privacy project and negotiations with key suppliers in the AdTech space. Vicki was also seconded to Dentsu ANZ’s legal team to assist Dentsu with their BAU operations, and worked closely with internal stakeholders.
Assisting Aristocrat to ensure compliance with their GDPR obligations in UK and EU and assisting with the negotiation of its key supplier arrangements. Vicki also provides ongoing assistance to Aristocrat in relation to its large trade mark portfolio, including drafting responses to trade mark examination reports and providing trade mark advice.

Providing pro bono advice to the Black Dog Institute, a not-for-profit medical research institute focused on mental health and suicide prevention, on a wide range of intellectual property and commercial matters relating to collaborative research, partnerships and their trade mark portfolio.
