NSW Women Lawyers Achievement Awards 2019
Maddocks was shortlisted for five awards, with CEO Michelle Dixon named the Change Champion of the Year.
Michelle was recognised for her outstanding contribution to the advancement of women, as a fierce advocate for diversity and championing the need for law firms to embrace the possibilities of diverse leadership.
Her contribution was reflected in the implementation of programs and policies that provide true diversity and inclusion, from parental leave and pay equity, to removing the barriers women face for promotion.

Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards 2019
Partner Simonetta Astolfi received the Government Partner of the Year Award. As a legal and probity adviser, she was a key driving force on several significant Commonwealth Government procurements and governance and conflicts reviews, amongst other achievements.
Simonetta was also recognised for her strong focus on developing the Canberra office, which has grown significantly since opening in 2012.

Maddocks partners, associates and teams were finalists in four categories. Individual nominations were:

Our Government team was nominated as a leader in the Government market, with a majority of our partners advising government organisations at all levels. This team was recognised for their combined expertise and experience as a deeply experienced team that understands all tiers of government. The team was also nominated for its real-world understanding of the transformational projects it supported.
• Workplace Relations & Employment Team of the Year
Our Employment & Workplace team was recognised for its high-value work for a number of corporate and government clients. These issues ranged from systematic underpayment and exploitation of migrant workers for the Fair Work Ombudsman, to high-profile disputes with the Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union in the Fair Work Commission.

Maddocks was recognised as a Bronze Employer at the Workplace Equality Awards 2018. We were recognised for our ongoing commitment in creating an inclusive workplace culture for all our partners and staff.

UDIA Awards for Excellence 2018
Maddocks received the Consultant’s Award for an innovative and tailored contract management platform for property developers VIP and Mirvac in their joint venture project Woodlea, in Melbourne’s west. The Maddocks eContracts platform handled large volumes of paperwork that supported Woodlea’s vision of providing a state-of-the-art digital experience provider.
The platform was created in response to Woodlea’s challenge to create an accurate, efficient and secure online platform that reduced paper waste for the property development industry. Maddocks eContracts allows all parties to sign contracts quickly and securely, reducing overheads and the time spent on contract signing from weeks to hours.
