Maddocks hosts inaugural Property Development Conference

Maddocks hosted the inaugural 2024 Maddocks Property Development Conference in Melbourne today, with the half-day event focused on navigating the latest legal and industry challenges facing the property development sector.

A strong turnout of clients and property professionals attended the program which featured a series of concurrent sessions on legal property issues, including acquiring distressed assets, updates on construction regulations, the current tax landscape, funding projects in a competitive market, and Victoria’s planning schemes.

The sessions were delivered by Maddocks Partners Nick Holuigue, Arlene Colquhoun, Simone Holding, and Michael Taylor-Sands.

The event concluded with a keynote presentation by Brian Haratsis, CEO of Macroplan, who explored the Victorian Government’s new plan for Victoria. Brian discussed how this plan aims to address the Government’s overarching objective of creating more housing and highlighted key opportunities under the new framework. Following his presentation, Brian joined a panel discussion with Justin Dowers from Stonebridge Property Group and Terry Montebello from Maddocks. The panel, moderated by Maddocks Partner Adam Jaques, provided insights into the planning opportunities for the sector for the years ahead.
