We know that cyber security is a priority for organisation’s given the rise in recent cyber threats and the reputational and fiscal risks associated with cyber incidents. A holistic view of your privacy frameworks and processes across your business is an essential first step in your organisation’s cyber resilience. ADAPT has been developed to assist compliance, IT, Executive teams and other stakeholders to simplify the complexity of undertaking a privacy review and ensuring you are following best-practice data handling processes that reduce your exposure to cyber incidents.

Privacy Training and Uplift Workshop
Key to this package is the privacy training and uplift workshop where we will engage with stakeholders across your organisation to uplift their understanding of privacy compliance and good-practice. The training will cover key concepts and obligations under the Privacy Act, illustrated by hypothetical and real-life examples. The training and work-shop allows our team to gain a better understanding of your organisation and its data handling needs in order to deliver the gap analysis report. The workshops also act as a great way to educate key stakeholders across the organisation to engage with the privacy review process and improve your privacy culture.
Onboarding
ADAPT has been designed to simplify an organisation’s ability to improve their privacy posture, and to this end we will assist you to onboard into the platform and ensure the smooth set up of your privacy surveys. Onboarding can take anywhere from 1-4 hours to complete depending on the complexity of your organisation and its data handling needs.
Digital Privacy Survey
Each key stakeholder across your business will need to complete a survey in order to ensure we have a holistic view of your organisation’s data handling. You will have access to a dashboard where you can view the status of survey completion and you and any users will have availability to ask questions directly through the survey.
Gap Analysis Report
Once all stakeholders have completed their surveys, our digital tool will run a report to detect gaps in your compliance risk under the Australian Privacy Act. Our expert team of lawyers will then evaluate the report considering your specific business needs, the Privacy Act and relevant regulatory guidance , and provide you with a detailed gap analysis report with recommendations on what steps we recommend you consider taking to addressing potential risks or to improve your privacy compliance maturity.
Technical Information
Your data is stored in Australia and encrypted in transit and at rest. We limit access to your data to nominated users and the Maddocks team assisting you. We are happy to engage with your IT team to discuss any specific security requirements.
Important qualifications
ADAPT has been developed for “organisations” who are required to comply with the Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles. It is not designed for agencies or organisations regulated by state based privacy regimes or other jurisdictional data protection regimes such as UK and EU GDPR. Don’t worry, if these are your requirements we will also be able to assist you, just not currently with ADAPT. ADAPT is designed to assist in the provision of legal advice by privacy and cyber lawyers. We are not cybersecurity or forensic experts and the tool is not a forensic based product. If you need specialised assistance from a cybersecurity expert, Maddocks works with a range of trusted experts in this space and who we would be happy to refer you to them as required.
