Maddocks welcomes leading Banking & Finance specialist Paul Saward as a new Partner
Paul is a new Partner in the Commercial – Banking & Finance practice in the Maddocks Melbourne office.

Maddocks has today launched a new logo and refreshed visual identity, marking the next step in the firm's evolution as the modern Australian law firm.
For more than 20 years, the iconic logo (often likened to a ‘barcode’), has been a familiar symbol of the trusted quality and expertise associated with Maddocks. While that logo has served the firm well, the way clients engage with legal services has evolved – and so too has Maddocks.
Drawing inspiration from the connected lines of the original mark, the new logo design forms a contemporary ‘M’ that links the firm's heritage with its future direction. The result is a balanced and integrated symbol that reflects how the firm’s people are working together to meet the changing needs of clients and the market.
The new identity is designed to represent the qualities that define Maddocks today: modern, trusted and collaborative. It also reflects the firm's commitment to stewardship, progress and continuous improvement, while acknowledging the history and reputation that has shaped the firm over many generations.
Maddocks CEO, Paul Woods, says:
“Our new logo signifies a new chapter for Maddocks and is a distinctive and unique symbol of quality, confidence and trusted knowledge. Maddocks is a firm with specialist teams, deep sector expertise, and an intimate understanding of Australia’s commercial, government, and regulatory landscapes, known for solving complex, high‑stakes challenges. This move reinforces our strengthened commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients, investing in our people and making a positive difference in our communities.”
