About Emily

Emily has extensive experience specialising in planning and environmental law, with a strong focus on advising NSW Government agencies and private sector clients on major infrastructure, development and energy projects. She advises on planning pathways, statutory powers, project delivery, land access and compulsory acquisition, and has significant experience navigating State and Commonwealth approval frameworks for complex projects.

Emily also advises on a broad range of environmental and planning matters, including biodiversity, contamination, heritage and environmental regulation. She regularly assists clients with regulatory risk, compliance and stakeholder issues, and has acted in Land and Environment Court proceedings, including compulsory acquisition disputes, judicial review proceedings and enforcement matters.

• Major Projects Planning Approvals
  • Advised State government agencies, infrastructure operators and energy companies on planning and environmental approval pathways for major projects. 
     
  • Extensive experience preparing and reviewing Environmental Impact Statements and providing strategic advice on approval pathways and environmental assessment requirements.
• Compulsory Acquisition
  • Advised State government agencies and infrastructure operators on compulsory acquisition and land access matters. 
     
  • Acted in Class 3 Land and Environment Court proceedings and advised on compensation, acquisition processes, access rights and the exercise of statutory powers for major infrastructure projects.
• Environmental Investigations and Prosecutions
  • Advised clients on environmental investigations, regulatory compliance and enforcement proceedings. 
     
  • Assisted clients to respond to regulator investigations, manage sensitive stakeholder issues and develop legal and strategic responses to environmental prosecution and enforcement matters.
• Environmental and Planning Regulation
  • Advised government and private sector clients on environmental and planning issues including contamination, biodiversity, heritage and waste regulation. 
     
  • Extensive experience in environmental and planning due diligence and advises on environmental risks associated with major developments and transactions.
