Megan practises in commercial and government litigation, administrative law and dispute resolution and brings to the firm more than 20 years of experience working with Commonwealth and State government clients. Megan is listed in various peer review publications including Doyles Guide and Best Lawyers as a leading practitioner in Government, Regulatory Practice, Litigation and Dispute Resolution.

Megan's considerable experience includes five years as partner of a national law firm with a focus on the government sector. Megan is renowned for designing pragmatic solutions to complex legal problems. Experience

  • Investigations and Commissions of Inquiry

    Megan has represented Commonwealth and private sector clients in numerous inquiries including the Banking Royal Commission, Home Insulation Program and Disability Services Royal Commission. Megan also has experience in the context of coronial processes. Megan has undertaken investigations under the Public Interest Disclosure Act and with respect to Government Procurement. Megan has advised the Office of the Commonwealth Ombudsman in connection with various reviews.

  • Government advice and litigation

    Megan regularly advises government clients on strategies to manage claim exposure and contain legal risk. Megan is regularly called upon to advise on complex contractual termination and implementation of schemes to redress class action exposure.

  • Commercial litigation and dispute resolution

    Megan has acted for ICT, financial and property sector clients in a range of litigation and dispute resolution in State and Federal Courts. Megan has acted in various multi-party apportionable claim litigation pro-actively managing client risk exposure to potential adverse cost orders.

  • Regulatory

    Megan has advised and represented regulators in the context of enforcement action and civil penalty proceedings. Megan has also advised regulatory clients in the context of access regimes and competition laws.

  • Legislative interpretation and advice

    Megan has extensive experience advising on statutory interpretation providing direct and pragmatic advice on interpretation risks to lead agencies. She has advised on the Public Governance Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and associated rules, the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2013, National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 and regulations, Aged Care legislation, Industry, Research and Development Act, Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, Superannuation Guarantee, Commonwealth and Military superannuation schemes, Corporations Law, National Consumer Credit legislation, Privacy Act and Freedom of Information (including acting in requests to the Information Commissioner).
