Advising on flood recovery works for Lismore City Council
Maddocks was appointed by Lismore City Council to advise on the program of flood recovery works.

Lismore, in the north of New South Wales, was severely impacted by major flood events in 2022, damaging more than 6,000 properties in the Northern Rivers. The NSW Government released a $1B AUD ‘Lismore Flood Recovery Planning Package’ to support the community as it rebuilds and gets people safely in homes sooner.
Maddocks was appointed by Lismore City Council to advise on the program of flood recovery works in relation to restoration of roads, bridges, water, wastewater infrastructure, waste management, flood mitigation and buildings. Our role to date has involved:
• advising on the procurement process, procurement model and contract documentation for project implementation.
• advising on and preparing a Consultancy Services Agreement between Council and Council’s design partner, to provide Council with detailed designs and reference designs for the Lismore Flood Recovery – Road and Bridge Restoration Project.
• advising on and preparing a GC21 construction contract for the Nimbin Road Project.
• advising on and preparing a draft Managing Contractor contract for the procurement of a program of flood remediation works across the LGA.
Flood recovery is a major and ongoing issue in Australia and particularly in regional NSW. This project will support Lismore’s flood-impacted community recover quickly and help improve its resilience to floods in the future.
