Celebrating 30 years across Sydney and Canberra

In its 138th year, this month, Maddocks is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Canberra office, which opened in 2012, and the 20th anniversary of the Sydney office, which opened in 2002.

The opening of the Sydney and Canberra offices were major milestones in the growth of the firm that was founded during the Victorian economic boom of the late 19th century with its focus on financial institutions, property developers and local government.

At the time of its Sydney expansion in 2002, the firm comprised 200 staff and 20 partners in Melbourne. Now, Maddocks is a firm of 90 partners and more than 640 people working with a wide range of private and public sector clients from its offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra.

The opening of the Maddocks office in Canberra enabled the firm to expand its government expertise, providing increased support to Commonwealth government clients.
