Mugga Lane Solar Farm is a ground-mounted solar farm and produces 15 MW of electricity a year for the ACT. The deal was signed following a competitive process run by the receivers and managers of the owner and operator of the project and is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2023.

The acquisition by CPERI will add to its portfolio of renewable energy assets.

A multidisciplinary team across Maddocks Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra offices worked on the deal, led by Corporate Partner Ron Smooker with support from Partners Pria O’Sullivan, Danielle Funston and Sefton Warner and Special Counsel Richard Robinson. Senior Associates Jacqueline Picone, Peter Hoolihan and Chris La Guzza also assisted.

Maddocks previously acted for CPERI on its 2022 acquisition of the Barangaroo South Precinct’s utility business from Lendlease in Sydney.
