Maddocks advises on CMP Consulting Group sale

Maddocks has advised the founders of CMP Consulting Group Pty Ltd (CMP) on the sale of their company to ASX-listed water services provider Vysarn Ltd.
CMP is an Australian owned and operated consulting engineering business with a specific focus on the water industry. It partners with public and private sector clients to provide engineering solutions for a broad range of water related infrastructure, covering all phases of a project cycle from investigation through design to construction supervision and contract management.
The Maddocks team advising on the sale was led by Commercial Partner Damien Wurzel and Special Counsel Steven Tang with assistance from Lawyer, Lucy MacLachlan. Commercial Partner, Catherine Merity advised on ASX features of the transaction while Commercial Partner, Leigh Baring, advised on taxation aspects. KPMG acted as financial advisers to the sellers on the transaction.
The transaction is another example of Maddocks’ reputation for providing experienced and wholistic legal support on founder M&A transactions. It also reflects the strong partnership with CMP, for whom Construction & Projects Partner Paul Woods and Associate Declan Peacock have acted for some time.
Commenting on the sale, Damien Wurzel said: “We are delighted to have worked with the founders of CMP and KPMG on this significant transaction. We are also excited for the future of the business as part of the broader Vysarn group.”
