Maddocks Announces 2025 Promotions Across the Firm

Maddocks is pleased to announce its 2025 promotions, with a record number of individuals recognised across both legal and shared services teams.
These promotions reflect the firm’s continued growth and success, following a year marked by new client wins and significant matters.
In the legal team, Maddocks has promoted 58 lawyers to Special Counsel, Senior Associate, and Associate level. In addition, 10 team members from Shared Services have also been promoted in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the firm’s operations and client service delivery. This follows 3 partner promotions.
“I’m delighted to announce our promotions for 2025, with 71 of our people being promoted across the firm,” said David Newman, CEO of Maddocks.
“This number of promotions reflects our continued growth in a year which we won new clients and significant matters. I want to congratulate these individuals for reaching this important milestone in their careers and look forward to their continued contributions to our firm as they continue to progress.
As we approach our 140th anniversary on 1 August, this moment is a powerful reminder of the legacy we’ve built and the exciting future ahead.”
These promotions follow the recent appointment of three new partners earlier this month:
- Trent Chugg (Banking & Finance, Melbourne)
- Elizabeth Lilley (Corporate, Melbourne)
- Lindsay Sheather (Real Estate, Sydney)
All promotions will take effect from 1 July.
