CEO Michelle Dixon will lead Maddocks until 2020

Tuesday 4 April 2017

Maddocks CEO Michelle Dixon will lead the firm for a further three years.

The Maddocks partnership voted this week to reappoint Michelle until 2020. Michelle began as interim CEO in 2014, before being formally appointed in December 2014.

Maddocks chair Mark Henry said the decision to reaffirm Michelle as CEO was recognition of her highly effective leadership during a challenging period for the legal sector.

‘Michelle has worked very closely with the partnership and the Board to put forward a strategy focused on outstanding client service, innovation, and diversity and equal opportunity,’ Mark said.

‘This strategy has led to an increase in revenue and profits, recognition for the work we do with our clients and a market-leading reputation as a workplace that places the highest value on the skills and experience of our people.’

Over the past three years, Maddocks has also:

  • seen expansion in all of its offices, in particular the Sydney and Canberra offices
  • moved to new state-of-the-art offices in Melbourne’s Collins Square
  • completed a multi-million dollar IT transformation project
  • received the Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency for the 13 consecutive year.

Michelle has also been recognised externally for her leadership, having been awarded the 2016 Victorian Award for Excellence in Women’s Leadership by Women and Leadership Australia and the Executive of the Year award at the 2016 Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards.

Michelle said she was proud to be confirmed for another term as CEO.

‘I am now in my 21st year at Maddocks and I have loved every day of it.

‘I look forward to working with our partners and the Board to continue to drive towards our strategic goal of being a firm that delivers first class legal services to our clients and first-rate career opportunities for our people.’
