Melinda advises all levels of government and private sector clients in planning, environmental and administrative law. She specialises in development appeals, civil enforcement and environmental prosecutions, compulsory acquisition, governance, access to government information and administrative appeals.

Melinda has extensive experience appearing in the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, NSW Land and Environmental Court and Local Courts on behalf of numerous government agencies, adopting a proactive and client-focused approach aimed at achieving positive outcomes and good decision making.

Experience

  • NSW Police Force

    Appearing on behalf of the Commissioner of Police as solicitor advocate in the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, in firearms and security licensing, and access to government information appeals.

  • NSW local councils and developers

    Advising and appearing in development appeals in the NSW Land and Environment Court.

  • Environmental Prosecutions and Civil Enforcement

    Advising and appearing on behalf of government agencies in the NSW Land and Environment Court and local courts in relation to breaches of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, and related environmental regulations.

    Advising Blacktown City Council on numerous acquisition of land and appearing in Class 3 proceedings and judicial review proceedings in the Supreme Court of NSW.
