Nidal is a Special Counsel with extensive experience working in the Commonwealth and Victorian governments in the fields of administrative law, energy and resources law, commercial law and public sector governance and integrity. 

Nidal adopts a client-focused mindset and regularly advises clients on complex and sensitive matters by bringing a pragmatic and ethical approach.

    Advising Government on major commercial transactions such as the West Gate Tunnel and Port of Melbourne.

  • Energy law

    Advising on design and implementation of the Victorian VRET scheme and Commonwealth Capacity Investment Scheme. 

  • Commercial law and procurment

    Experienced in government procurement and contracting and key legislative and policy frameworks of Victorian and Commonwealth governments. 

  • Statutory interpretation and public sector governance and integrity

    Regularly providing advice to Victorian Government departments and entities on statutory development and interpretation, delegations and authorisations and public sector governance and integrity.

  • Victorian Electoral Commission

    Leading the State of Victoria's legal strategy in the 2022 Victorian state election and 2024 local government elections.

  • Yoorrook Justice Commission

    Representing Victorian Government Ministers and senior government officials in providing evidence in Australia's first truth-telling royal commission.
