About Miles

Miles is a Senior Associate in the Banking & Finance Team at Maddocks. He advises Australian and international financial institutions, non-bank lenders, corporate borrowers and private equity sponsors on a diverse range of banking and finance transactions, including corporate finance, acquisition and leveraged finance and property finance.

Miles has also spent time practising in London for a large international firm, including undertaking a secondment in HSBC's London leverage finance team.

    • Macquarie Bank: Acting on the A$25m senior facility to an online insurance business.
    • Commonwealth Bank of Australia: Acting on the A$188m refinancing of a Sydney pub & hotel group and its subsequent increases and amendments.
    • HPS Investment Partners: Acting on the £140m refinancing for Hyve Group Plc (global exhibition and conference business)
    • HSBC: Acting on the restructure of the £125m corporate facilities to a supermarket chain.
  • Acquisition and Leveraged Finance
    • Navis Capital Partners: Acting for the Borrower/Sponsor on their $130m and €100m senior acquisition facilities.
    • QinetiQ Group Plc: Acting on the £266m syndicated acquisition facility to the QinetiQ group (security and defence technology business)
    • CVC, Apollo and others: Acting on the £675m syndicated TLB and super senior facilities to a UK card payment solutions business.
    • Goldman Sachs: Acting on various syndicated facilities for leverage buyouts for TA Associates.
  • Property and Construction Finance
    • Madigan Capital: Acting on a A$625m syndicated senior debt facility to fund the development of a landmark 580,000 sqm industrial estate near the new Western Sydney Airport
    • Commonwealth Bank of Australia: Acting on the A$98m construction financing for the development of a ‘A Grade’ office building in the Melbourne CBD.
    • Madigan Capital: Acting on the A$40m construction financing to an SPV Borrower for the development of a distribution warehouse at Adelaide Airport.
    • Commonwealth Bank of Australia: Acting on the A$65m facility to Penrith Panthers for working capital purposes and the development of a hotel and conference facilities including a 1000 seat convention centre and 154 room hotel.
    • Sirius Developments: Acting on the A$400m funding of the landmark Sirius Building on Sydney Harbour. Funding was provided by a Goldman Sachs entity.
