About Sefton
Sefton is well known for negotiating successful outcomes on construction projects for his clients. As a trusted advisor to both domestic and international stakeholders in the construction, infrastructure and renewable energy sectors, he has an established industry reputation on major projects.
His practical skills and experience have been exclusively focussed on the front-end of construction projects, including drafting and reviewing project documentation such as construction contracts and ancillary documentation (consultancy, supply and direct deeds), reviewing legislation (including trade occupational licensing) and leading negotiations on some of Australia’s most complex and high-profile projects. He also provides a variety of project advice, support and training.

Renewable Energy: Solar
Acting for the successful contractor, Canadian-headquartered PCL Construction’s Solar Division (PCL), as the engineering, procurement and construct (EPC) contractor for utility scale Australian solar farm projects including:
- 235 MWp Maryvale (NSW), “DC-coupled” with 190-270MWh of energy storage;
- 214 MWdc Woolooga (Qld);
- 107 MWdc West Wyalong (NSW); and
- 94MW Gunsynd (QLD).

Renewable Energy: Wind
Acting for tenderers in respect of civil and electrical packages on major wind farm projects across Australia.

Healthcare: Eastwood Private Hospital
Advising the successful contractor, BESIX Watpac on negotiations with both the project owner and project funder to secure the award of the Design and Construct Contract and ancillary tripartite arrangements with the project funder. The Project consists of a six-story development including a six-theatre perioperative floor, a 51-bed ward, a multi-level car park, a café and retail area, as well as medical imaging and pathology services.
