About Taboka

Taboka advises on the full spectrum of employment law issues, from contracts and entitlements through to discrimination and performance management. She also advises on transfer of business, redundancy and termination issues.

Taboka advises employers on workplace reviews and investigations, with a particular focus on the prevention of bullying, sexual harassment and other forms of discrimination. She also assists organisations covered by the Victorian Reportable Conduct Scheme to investigate and respond to allegations of child abuse and neglect by their workers and volunteers. Taboka is a deeply experienced litigator, having defended complex matters before the Fair Work Commission, the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Federal Court.

Experience

  • Employment litigation and dispute resolution

    Significant experience assisting public and private sector clients defend discrimination, unfair dismissal, bullying, general protections and breach of contract claims in the Fair Work Commission, Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and the Federal Court.

  • Conciliations and mediations

    Regularly advises on, and assists public and private sector clients with, conciliations and mediations at all courts and tribunals including the Fair Work Commission, Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission and the Federal Court.

  • Complaint handling and workplace investigations

    Advises employers on all aspects of workplace grievances and employee misconduct including investigations into allegations of bullying, sexual harassment, discrimination and child abuse connected to the workplace under the Victorian Reportable Conduct Scheme.

  • Employment contracts

    Assists employers with the interpretation of industrial instruments and contracts of employment, including terminations and contractual disputes.

  • Employment advice and training

    Regularly advising employers on handling bullying, sexual harassment and discrimination complaints and provides training on appropriate workplace behaviour.
