Maddocks advises on Eighth Community Pharmacy Agreement
Maddocks has advised the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care on the Eighth Community Pharmacy Agreement (8CPA), ensuring Australian patients can continue to access cheaper medicines and quality healthcare from pharmacies through the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
The five-year agreement between the Albanese Government and the Pharmacy Guild of Australia was signed on 3 June 2024.
The 8CPA includes a range of measures for the subsidised supply of medicines including $2.1 billion in additional funding for a new Additional Community Supply Support
Payment to community pharmacy and $1.35 billion for community pharmacy programs. The agreement takes effect from 1 July 2024.
