Maddocks has advised PCL Construction on the new 94 MW Gunsynd Solar Project in Goondiwindi, southeast Queensland, on behalf of renewable energy infrastructure developer Metis Energy.

Engaged by Singapore-based Metis Energy, PCL will build and commission the new project, overseeing the detailed design, engineering and procurement of the new solar facility. PCL will also manage operation and maintenance services in the first two years.

Gunsynd Solar is one of over 50 large scale renewable energy projects under operation, under construction or financially committed across Queensland.

Headquartered in Canada, with a permanent office in Sydney, PCL is an experienced and diverse group of independent construction companies which operate at the cutting edge of sustainable construction. It delivers solar energy solutions in Australia, the United States and Canada.

Gunsynd Solar will add to the portfolio of solar assets completed or under construction by PCL Constructors Pacific Rim Pty Ltd in Australia, including the Stubbo Solar Project in the central west of NSW, Gunnedah and West Wyalong solar projects in NSW and Woolooga in Queensland. Maddocks has advised PCL on all of these projects.

The Maddocks team was led by Construction Partner, Sefton Warner, with support from Senior Associates, Madeleine Lynch and Michael Copeland.

Commenting on Maddocks’ successful appointment, Sefton Warner said: “We are pleased to have once again advised PCL on another project that will assist Australia in its crucial transition to clean energy. Maddocks’ latest role reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting clients in this important sector of renewable energy projects.”
