Maddocks advises Porta on sale of prominent Melbourne site to Cedar Woods

Maddocks has advised long-standing client Porta on the sale of its landmark site at 224-256 Heidelberg Road, Fairfield to ASX-listed developer Cedar Woods.
The future redevelopment of the site is expected to deliver a mid-rise, multi stage apartment project.
The Maddocks team acted for Porta on all legal aspects of the transaction, including preparing and negotiating the sale documentation and advising on complex planning, title and transitional use issues.
The Maddocks team was led by Partner, Bettina Sheeran, with support from Senior Associate, Kim Shephard and Associate, Tommy Delatycki.
Commenting on the transaction, Bettina Sheeran said: “We’re proud to have supported Porta through this milestone sale. The site has been an important part of Porta’s story for many years, and it was a privilege to help facilitate a transaction that reflects the site's strategic value and sets the stage for its future renewal.”
“This outcome is a credit to Porta’s vision and the collaborative efforts of all parties involved.”
The site is anticipated to undergo transformation into a mixed-use development under Cedar Woods, taking advantage of its prime location near employment, education and transport hubs.
