Transport for New South Wales | Operation Hector
The NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) held a public inquiry, starting Monday 20 March 2023, as part of an investigation concerning the conduct of employees of Inner West Council (IWC), Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and others, known as Operation Hector.

Maddocks acted for TfNSW in ICAC’s Operation Hector hearing in 2023 concerning the conduct of TfNSW staff, contractors and employees of business partners.
TfNSW was named a party of sufficient interest in the public hearing in Operation Hector which examined, among other things, the conduct of three former TfNSW workers in procuring construction related services as part of the Transport Access Program (train station accessibility upgrades).
Our work included attending witnesses conferences, appearing at the public hearing as necessary to represent TfNSW and providing regular hearing updates and considering Counsel Assisting submissions, settling submissions and preparing submissions with Counsel.
