Alex is a Partner in the Maddocks Corporate & Commercial team. Alex has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and private equity investment with significant cross border transactions experience. 

Alex’s experience covers corporate, commercial and financial services law and specialises in:

Alex is a dual-qualified lawyer in both Australia and the UK.

  • Acted for Wallenborn Transport (Europe) on the proposed purchase of a large Australian transport group.
  • Acted for BWT Austria on numerous acquisitions in Australia.
  • Acted for ETEX Group on corporate restructures of Australian businesses.
  • Acted for Kaefer Group on acquisition of a number of Australian businesses.
  • Acted for Toho Zinc Co., Ltd (Japanese company listed on Tokyo stock exchange) in their $90M investment into a mining subsidiary in Australia of an ASX-listed company.  
  • Acted for Legrand France on its acquisition of Vass Electrical Industries, an electrical busways designer, manufacturer and supplier.
  • Acted for mining private equity funds on various investments in private and public mining companies including through schemes of arrangement.

  • Acted for the Commonwealth Government of Australia and overseas Government entities regarding the purchase and development of large scale Australian mining projects.
  • Acted for IT Vision on the sale of its business to ASX-listed company.
