About Hemant

Hemant has experience in advising both private and public sector clients on technology and commercial projects with a focus on information technology, intellectual property, critical infrastructure, privacy and general commercial matters.

As a part of his technology practice, Hemant advises both customer-side and supplier-side clients on a range of both complex and ‘business as usual’ technology matters, including IT outsourcing and procurement, cloud based offerings and software licensing.

As part of his commercial practice, Hemant advises clients on critical infrastructure, privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance, with a particular focus on providing practical and commercial outcomes for his clients. Having previously worked at a large private law firm and a Commonwealth department, Hemant is able to offer a broad range of experiences and solutions that are practical and client-focused, aimed at fostering positive outcomes.

    Advising the global software company on negotiations with its Australian customers for the provision of business critical software products and associated services. Working closely with Adobe’s legal team, commercial leads and technical professionals, and acting as an extension of the legal team.am.

  • Black Dog Institute

    Providing pro bono advice to the Black Dog Institute, a not-for-profit medical research institute focused on mental health and suicide prevention, on a wide range of intellectual property and commercial matters relating to collaborative research and partnerships.

  • Energy Exemplar

    Advising the global software company on a number of software licensing transactions and partnership agreements for its Australian and international customers and partners.

  • NSW Government

    Advising NSW government agencies including, NSW Health, Investment NSW, NSW Police Force on a range of complex and 'business as usual' procurement matters, including in relation to the procurement of ICT-related goods and services using the NSW ICT Purchasing Framework.

  • Samsung Electronics Australia

    Providing general commercial advice, as well as drafting and negotiating a number of commercial agreements, including agreements with telecommunication service providers and technology agreements.
