Maddocks advises on iconic Fitzroy Gasworks site transformation

Maddocks advised a consortium comprising property developers Milieu, Assemble Communities and Hickory, on their transformation of a portion of the iconic Fitzroy Gasworks site in Melbourne.
The consortium was selected by Development Victoria following an extensive process and will deliver new housing across parts of the site that will include more than 800 new residences.
The legal complexities of the project required a multi-disciplined approach by Maddocks with the matter led by Property & Development Partner Nick Holuigue, Commercial Partner Jessica Reid, and Tax Partner Michael Taylor-Sands, with input from our finance and construction teams led by Partners Ilan Kraus and Andrew Pitney.
The consortium will partner with not-for-profit Nightingale Housing and, over the coming years, the site will have around 820 new residences, including 168 affordable homes, in a vibrant, all electric precinct.
