Shaun Temby crowned Dispute Resolution Partner of the Year

We are delighted to share that Partner Shaun Temby has been announced Dispute Resolution Partner of the Year at the Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards 2026, held last week at The Star in Sydney.
This recognition reflects Shaun’s outstanding leadership and influence in high-stakes litigation and complex dispute resolution. In 2025, his practice was defined by his leadership in two landmark disputes, demonstrating his expertise in delivering decisive outcomes under significant commercial pressure and public scrutiny.
Shaun also played a pivotal role in driving the continued growth and success of our Dispute Resolution & Litigation practice. He expanded his Sydney-based disputes team to 10 lawyers, including new graduates – significantly increasing the team’s capacity to take on larger and more complex matters while contributing meaningfully to the firm’s broader financial performance.
As both Practice Leader and Partner‑in‑Charge of the Sydney office, Shaun has fostered a culture of excellence, collaboration and innovation. His leadership approach emphasises aligning the team’s strategic direction with both client priorities and firm-wide goals. He is widely recognised for his commitment to mentoring and developing lawyers at all levels, creating an environment where junior lawyers are empowered, given meaningful opportunities on major matters, and supported to succeed. His open-door approach and focus on coaching have strengthened team cohesion and morale across the practice.
Reflecting on the award, Shaun said:
“Winning this award again is a truly humbling recognition of my team’s dedication and our unwavering commitment to achieving exceptional outcomes for our clients.”
We also congratulate our fellow partners who were recognised as finalists and attended the ceremony:
- Ilan Kraus – Finalist, Banking & Finance Partner of the Year
- Julia Tonkin – Finalist, Wills & Estates Partner of the Year
- Gavan Mackenzie – Finalist, Government Partner of the Year
- Greg Palumbo – Finalist, Partner of the Year (Big Law – 3 years or less)
Congratulations to Shaun and all of our finalists on this well‑deserved recognition.
