The Society of University Lawyers (SOUL) represents legal practitioners employed at universities and as an association, promotes the exchange of information on legal matters affecting universities and tertiary education generally. The annual conference is a highlight of the year for members, and this year’s conference is being held in Perth on 16-17 October 2025.

This year, Special Counsel Rose McCarthy will be presenting the conference’s sole session focused on construction. Rose will lead a deep dive into contractual strategies for managing construction projects within a ‘live’ campus environment – with universities looking to maximise campus utilisation, this topic is sure to be of interest.
