NSW Local Government Court Reporter
2024 2nd Edition
Welcome to the second edition of the NSW Local Government Court Reporter for 2024.

The purpose of this publication is to keep you up to date with decisions that impact local councils in NSW.
In this edition we consider cases regarding:
- an application for a determination that native title does not exist, based on historic land grants;
- the determination of 'compensation' for land transferred to a local council under the terms of a development consent;
- the validity of a development consent that had been granted under delegated authority;
- the characterisation of the production of hemp-infused products;
- whether Crown land, subject to an Aboriginal land claim, was 'not lawfully used or occupied';
- the liability of a general manager for executive liability offences under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 (NSW); and
- decisions under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (NSW) that are not reviewable by the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
We hope you enjoy reading this edition of the Court Reporter.
