Maddocks has appointed Ilan Kraus and Cameron Thomson as partners of the firm.
Cameron has significant experience working in all areas of real estate and development across the residential, retail, industrial, leisure and office sectors and advises leading participants in those sectors.
Cameron's expertise is across commercial property portfolios; divestment and acquisition programs; leases; linear infrastructure projects; utility/facility agreements; tender procedures and calls for expression of interest; development projects; development agreements; joint ventures; and working with Receivers and Managers.
His clients include a wide range of stakeholders in the real estate and development industry in both the public and private sectors. Cameron’s pragmatic approach to legal advice and ease of working with is appreciated by his clients.
Acting for various residential developers, including acting for Frasers Property Australia on 'Putney Hill', the redevelopment of the Ryde Rehabilitation Centre in NSW. The project involved the staged development of over 700 apartments and houses pursuant to the Putney Hill Master Plan. Work included development, subdivision and conveyancing aspects of the project.
Acting for a NSW Government department on site acquisitions, sales and leases.
Acting on all land acquisition and easement matters associated with the 132-kV high capacity transmission line between Manildra and Parkes in NSW. The project was successfully concluded and involved arrangements for the installation of over 300 power poles over a distance of 80 kilometres.
Advising on the easement structures and agreements for the provision of gas services, including on the Gas Transportation Storage and Service Agreement entered into for the Colongra Lateral Pipeline.
Acting on disposals, property development and its significant leasing portfolio. Advised on the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, expressions of interest and tenders, lease backs, attended numerous auctions and negotiation sessions and advised on strategic issues.
Acting on disposal program, commercial leases, agreements for lease and all aspects of mobile facilities. Advising on tender and sales processes on a wide range of sites of varying values and has liaised closely and regularly with Telstra's external property service providers.
