Maddocks advises Svitla Systems on acquisition of Kiandra to accelerate global AI-driven solutions

Maddocks has advised US-based digital solutions company Svitla Systems on its acquisition of Kiandra, an Australian custom software engineering firm.
This cross-border acquisition marks a significant step in Svitla Systems' expansion into the Australian and the Asia-Pacific markets, strengthening its local presence and further enhancing its software engineering and AI capabilities.
The transaction will enable the delivery of advanced solutions for organisations across the region operating in highly regulated environments, such as healthcare, financial services and government.
Maddocks advised Svitla Systems throughout the transaction, delivering an integrated and commercially focused approach. Corporate and M&A Partner Rahil Patel commented,
“We were delighted to support Svitla Systems on its first acquisition in Australia and its formal entry into the Australian market. This deal represents a significant milestone for Svitla Systems' global growth strategy, and we’re proud to have helped the team navigate the regulatory, commercial and execution challenges of a cross‑border transaction to establish its Australian platform."
The deal highlights Maddocks’ expertise in cross-border technology M&A and its strong track record advising international clients on strategic investments and acquisitions regionally.
The Maddocks team advising Svitla Systems was led by Partner Rahil Patel, supported by Lawyer Isabella Dissing and Solicitor Jordan Baird. The broader team included specialists led by Partners Cameron Thomson (Property), Meaghan Bare (Employment), Brendan Tomlinson (TMT), Andrew Wright (Tax) and Arlene Colquhoun (Banking & Finance), together with their respective teams.
